For over 60 years we've trained dogs and owners by building a solid foundation for mutual learning, working together, understanding each other, and most of all growing and nurturing the bond between each other.

Quality is utmost at Epps Kennels.  We are dedicated to producing the highest quality dogs and training programs for our clients.  We train the most competitive National Champions to the warmest family hunting dogs. 

Our experience and methods gained over the years are based on the continuous study and documentation of behavioral patterns in dogs, including psychology, physiology, instinct, intelligence, temperament, desire, conformation, genetic characteristics, ability to smell, ability to wind birds (distinctly different than the ability to smell), style and overall natural ability.

The goal of our breeding and training programs are to provide the absolute best English Pointers, German Shorthairs and Labrador Retrievers available anywhere.  We are very competitive in the field and pride ourselves in being able to breed, raise and/or train spectacular hunting dogs.  When you go hunting or compete with your gundog and you think you enjoyed shooting the birds more than you did watching your dog perform, then we didn't breed, raise or train your dog to our expectations.

Our training facility is located 22 miles North of Reno, Nevada, in Northern California, just off Highway 395.  The kennel and property were exclusively designed to train the ultimate competition pointers and retrievers.  The grounds have been developed to enable us to train and develop high quality personal hunting dogs and National caliber competition dogs without leaving the property. Many different types of terrain and cover are maintained to teach and help each dog reach its maximum potential. 

If you're looking for a dog, we have Lab, English Pointer and German Shorthaired Pointer puppies available several times a year.  In addition, we have the finest young started bird dogs and fully trained gundogs available anywhere.
